I’m Nicholas Bartle, a Power Query, M language, DAX and Power Pivot enthusiast / learner. These tools are all part of Power BI, a Microsoft business intelligence programme.

In my blog, I’ll share techniques for automating data entry and some methods that I’ve used to analyse and report on KPIs.

The Fill Down function in Power Query can be useful for transforming reports into a tabular structure so that they can be analysed (Microsoft Copilot currently needs data in a table).
This YouTube Short shows how to use the Fill Down function when some of the report categories or titles are missing: https://youtube.com/shorts/xzCD1RmaCV4?feature=share
If you are just starting out with Power BI, I’ve done a mini project that covers some of the basics of Power Query, modeling, DAX, visualising and sharing.
